Most of the times in a fall the wheels loose their shape, and are not aligned properly. Even if you are not a professional at truing your wheel You do not need to be a specialized person to know the truing of the wheels of a mountain bike.

The first thing to do is ensure that none of the wheels spokes are jutting out or loose. To find out, just check all the spokes and make sure they are in place. If any of them are loose, tighten them by turning the spokes anti clockwise.

Check all the spokes in the similar manner and if any are loose repeat the process. Until all are placed in a proper manner. In most of the cases, the wheel must be touching the brakes or some part of the rim of the bike. Turn your bike upside down then spin the wheel to see where it comes closest to rubbing on the brake. Then rotate the wheel both backwards and forwards and then try to align them.

Truing a wheel is easier than it looks, although it depends on the bike. Incase the spokes have been loosened be careful, there are chances that they might break so gently try to loosen or tighten them.
